Betty Everett — You’re No Good (1963)
Chicago soul singer and pianist Betty Everett blasts through this dressing down of an ex-lover—and the horns and twanging electric guitar really kick it up to the next level.
The tune didn’t crack the top 50 for Betty, but Linda Ronstadt had a #1 hit with it in 1975. Hers is more like a smooth flirting wink from your ex, compared to Betty’s drink in your face.
