The Friends of Friends label is back with the second installment of its Pop Massacre series—wherein pop songs are bent all out of shape or otherwise destroyed (in a good way.) This slow buzzy track from La Habra producer JonWayne is my favorite of the bunch, with his signature Mario-Bros-style beats. Another gem is Chico Mann’s afro-cuban treatment of The Cure’s ‘Close to Me.’
